As noted previously, this project was born two weeks prior to its release, but it would not make total sense to NOT include a brand new recording of some kind. Time was limited, but I was able to create a new track based on unused song structure ideas from the BUENO BYE sessions and building on them utilizing both old and new elements to make an all-new representation of the song for its 20th anniversary. The answering machine messages that bookend this track are quite dear to me. Mr. Gary Fitch is THE guy who had always pushed me to make music and perform. Without him, this EP would not even be thought of. His opinion of this song, shortly after Buddy debuted it live at the Hard Rock in Newport Beach, has always stuck with me. And, my dad’s voice… well, it goes without saying. He has always lived within this song, and having his voice present kind of ties it all together. I hope this version brings something new to the table for those of you who have followed and supported me for the past 20+ years. It’s been special. Thank you.
